Berlínská kapela Pretty Average spojuje syrové zkreslení a nekompromisní vyprávění do ostrého zvuku, který čerpá z živých vystoupení. Frontmanka Candy přednáší písně z ženského pohledu na identitu, sociální odmítnutí a generační nejistotu – její drsný, nefiltrovaný hlas proráží vlny syrových kytar. Jejich debutové album All I Wanted, které produkoval Francisco Parisi (Minimal Schlager), jim vyneslo stipendium Musicboard Berlin. Jejich chystané album „The Highs and Lows of Being Pretty Average“ vystihuje ducha kapely stvořené pro pódium – přímé, naléhavé a plné energie.

Kapela Garlands – pojmenovaná jako „pocta“ debutovému albu skupiny Cocteau Twins – se zvukově pohybuje mezi dream popem, shoegaze a noise rockem. Kapelu založily Catharina Rüß a Sui Kemmer v Hamburku. V roce 2024 vydaly své debutové EP „Turn the Sky“ u vydavatelství La Pochette Surprise. Po odchodu Kemmerové ze zdravotních důvodů se Garlands proměnily v sólový projekt Cathariny Rüß. Ta nyní působí v Berlíně a spolu se svou koncertní kapelou je součástí tamní psych a shoegaze scény.

Garlands spojuje hlučný zvuk kapel My Bloody Valentine a Sonic Youth s éterickými harmoniemi připomínajícími Nico a Stereolab. Textově se písně točí kolem stavů přechodu života v přísně reglementované společnosti, pocitu být na cestě, stárnutí, proměny a pomíjivosti – to vše zachycené v hutných zvukových krajinách, které oscilují mezi melancholií, rebelií a novými začátky.
Na živých vystoupeních se Garlands již představili po boku Thorstena Quaeschninga (Tangerine Dream), Lucy Krugerové i kapel jako MaidaVale, Lorelle Meets the Obsolete a New Candys. Debutové album skupiny Garlands vyjde počátkem roku 2027 u vydavatelství La Pochette Surprise. První singl „My Arms Your Armor“ vyjde na podzim 2026 a bude znamenat začátek prvního evropského turné skupiny Garlands.

Berlin-based Pretty Average channels raw distortion and unapologetic storytelling into a sharp-edged, live-driven sound. Frontwoman Candy delivers songs from a female perspective on identity, social rejection, and generational uncertainty — her rough, unfiltered voice cutting through waves of gritty guitars. Produced by Francisco Parisi (Minimal Schlager), their debut All I Wanted earned them the Musicboard Berlin Scholarship. Their upcoming album The Highs and Lows of Being Pretty Average captures the spirit of a band built for the stage — direct, urgent, and fiercely alive.

Garlands – named as a “femmage” to the Cocteau Twins’ debut album – moves sonically between dream pop, shoegaze, and noise rock. The band was founded by Catharina Rüß and Sui Kemmer in Hamburg. In 2024, they released their debut EP, Turn the Sky, on the label La Pochette Surprise. Following Kemmer’s departure for health reasons, Garlands evolved into Catharina Rüß’s solo project. She is now based in Berlin and, together with her live band, is part of the city’s psych and shoegaze scene. Garlands combines the noise of My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth with floating harmonies reminiscent of Nico and Stereolab. Lyrically, the songs revolve around states of transition, life in a tightly regimented society, being in transit, growing older, transformation, and impermanence – captured in dense soundscapes that oscillate between melancholy, rebellion, and new beginnings. Live, Garlands have already shared the stage with Thorsten Quaeschning (Tangerine Dream), Lucy Kruger, as well as bands such as MaidaVale, Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, and New Candys. Garlands’ debut album will be released in early 2027 via La Pochette Surprise. The first single, “My Arms Your Armor,” will be released in autumn 2026, marking the beginning of Garlands’ first European tour.
