Fauna is the atavistic avatar of ancient ancestors. Through ritual performance, trancelike atmosphere, and overwhelming metallic soundscape, they craft an alternate universe that channels the turbulence and tenacity of the wild human spirit. Born of the rugged and rain-drenched forests of Cascadia, they sing a reverence of land and origins, offering a path toward renewal, embodiment, immersion, and transformation - both within and without.

The third LP 'Avifauna' presented live during this spring tour in about 70 minutes with all ritualistic parts is one big blasting droney folk metal epic that carries the idea of hypnotic ritualism through an ever-changing slew of tempos and instrumental styles. Although it appeared with little warning after mostly being forgotten about, the collection of these composed sounds definitely establish the band as one of the true heavyweights in American black metal.

Lengthy and complex affair that further explores their fascinations and strikes headlong into the darkest of musical vistas. The journey is dotted with further ethnographic audio elements and more spacious passages, a deep approach.

While staying committed to their extreme metal roots and historical, literary themes, L' Acéphale incorporates and shines brightly with elements of monumental dark folk, spoken word, black metal, and almost martial artforms. Spiraling with monolithic auras and blasting with furious whirlwinds, L' Acéphale appears at once aloof, yet savage with wild abandon, while at times delicate, but still unbreakable. L' Acéphale is as avant-garde as you can get, while raging with blistering and cacophonous ferocity.

Expect distinctly ambient and largely gentle pieces, repetitive acoustic riffing, vocal chants with executioner's snare rolls, slow martial black metal, aetherial keyboards, droning distorted guitar, shrieked vocals, swathes of electronic noise and maelstrom, ending up with passing over into ritual music...

Orbit a řád věcí jako výsledek starodávných cyklů, který jednou pro vždy povstal ze spleti labyrintu chaosu. Jako píseň psaná barbarskými silami volného pádu balvanu, jako ostrý břit projíždějící zmrzlým temným zálivem vesmíru, kde čas se vypařil a kde zůstala jen podstata očištěná od úpěnlivých smyslů a dychtící touhotvorné existence. Búřě na cěstě.
